A computer game that allows a player to simulate repairing a car has gone on sale.
Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 offers a realistic experience of what it is like to work under the bonnet of a vehicle without the need to gets your overalls dirty. The video game is designed for both motoring enthusiasts and those who want to sample what it might be like to be a mechanic, helping teach them valuable skills.
The simulator might provide a taste of being a car mechanic, but for those looking to do the job for real, one of the first lessons to learn is that you are going to need a road risks insurance policy – this will provide cover to drive other people’s vehicles as part of your business operations. For those who perform repairs or servicing from permanent premises, you will also need combined motor trade insurance cover to protect the building as well as the tools, equipment and vehicles stored on site against theft or damage.
Within the video game the player will have to diagnose problems, fix them and do so for a profit. There is more; virtual mechanics will also be responsible for ordering parts and upgrading the garage they work in. There is also a 4x4 expansion pack now available.
Car Mechanic Simulator offers two modes of play – career mode and endless – and is a Red Dot Games development. It is available for the PC or Mac and is priced at £14.99.
