Plans for a new Jaguar Land Rover dealership have been submitted for Bolton town centre, intended to be positioned in a three-storey site on Higher Bridge Street. This also happens to be located between existing Ford and Citroen dealerships.
The new site is proposed for the Farnell Jaguar Land Rover dealership and would be built on an existing site, which is currently being used as a workshop. The building would be demolished and the new purpose-built site would take its place, according to the 'striking' new plans.
The developer explained: "Existing buildings located on the site are no longer fit for purpose. Demolishing the existing buildings creates the opportunity to provide a modern development that will enhance the local area, and create exceptional workplace for staff and generate new local employment opportunities.”
When undertaking a major expansion or relocation such as this, dealership owners need to ensure that they update their dealership insurance to cover all new inventory, buildings and staff.
The developer for the project added: “The development plans to relocate the existing Farnell Jaguar dealership, providing a new modern motor retail space to better serve their clients, create an exceptional workplace and offer an appropriate development that enhances the site and surrounding area."
This is the third application for a flagship car dealership in Bolton town centre over the past year, following previous plans submitted or Audi and Skoda dealerships.
