Vertu Motors has finished work on a major refurbishment of its Birmingham Ford dealership, transforming the former Bristol Street Motors site with a £1 million investment.
The new facilities at the site include a bigger showroom with space for a further 40 to 50 used vehicles, plus a new bodyshop, reception area and offices.
You may not be able to spend £1 million on upgrading your facilities but if you carry out improvement work at your dealership, always be sure to check that your insurance adequately covers you for the development. As well as your general motor trade insurance, you may want to consider upgrading to a comprehensive motor insurance policy, which protects the facilities as well as the contents of your site.
The Birmingham revamp was carried out at what was Bristol Street Motors’ first site when it opened almost a century ago, aptly in Bristol Street.
The investment has upgraded the facilities across the dealership including the main showroom where there is new furniture, improved lighting and display boards to provide a better customer experience.
The work saw the demolition of the old bodyshop and the addition of a new raised display area, as well as additional customer parking.
As part of the 21st Century updates, Vertu had added a lift between the undercover customer car park to take people straight to the showroom and reception areas.
The Ford Transit Centre, which is part of the dealership site, has also been improved with better access to the unit and a new glazed frontage to make viewing the stock easier.
The dealership’s status as an official Ford Store makes it the only one in the Birmingham area to sell the Ford Prestige brand. It will be the first to handle the new Vignale model, and also stocks the Focus RS and GT ranges.
