The Hendy Group is set to open three brand new car dealerships in Eastleigh in a multi-million pound investment, reports CarDealer Magazine.
The move is part of the dealership chain’s expansion plans, which only recently acquired the Lifestyle Dealer Group and made it one of the largest automotive retailers in the country. Around £9 million will be invested in the latest Eastleigh venture, according to managing director Paul Hendy.
UK car dealerships hoping to expand or add new stock to their forecourts should ensure that their motor trade insurance and road risks insurance policies are updated to account for their changing quotas. And to ensure that they remain competitive, they should also make sure they have good demonstration insurance, too, so that any requests for test drives will be completely covered.
Hendy Group’s three new sites will all be based on Leigh Road, at a site formerly occupied by the Eastleigh Borough Council. The group plans to offer vehicles made Honda, Kia and Mazda in separate showrooms, alongside their current promises, which offers a range of Ford products.
The multi-million project has submitted the plans to the planning authorities and hopes to have the new facilities ready in time for a proposed 2017 summer launch. The new showrooms will house 27 new cars, 120 used cars and a 20-bay workshop area.
Mr Hendy said of his group’s expansion plans: “We have a long tradition of ongoing investment and expansion in the region and these plans represent the next phase of our history. This is a really exciting time for the group and a fantastic opportunity for us to grow.”
