A host of new jobs are expected to be created as a car dealership in Blackpool plans to invest £1 million in an expansion of its business.
The Chorley Group has announced going into the New Year that it plans to build a new workshop on the land opposite its existing Squires Gate premises. Complementing the current showroom, the development on the one-acre site will generate many jobs for mechanics just months after the company brought in 11 new members of staff to join its sales team.
When building a new site and hiring new staff there is a wide range of considerations the business will need to make, including potential changes to its motor trade insurance policy. From adding new employees to a road risks insurance policy so they can drive customers’ vehicles, through to getting a higher level of cover for the increased number of cars, parts, tools and people they have on site, the company must ensure it gets the right policy to match its evolving needs.
The new development, which is adjacent to its existing site, will include four ramps and a Class 7 MOT bay, The Blackpool Gazette reported.
According to Chorley Group sales director Pauline Turner: “Business has really picked up over the last 12 months, to the point where we are starting to run out of space.
“These new facilities are therefore vital to our future success and will enhance the customer experience.”
The development is hoped to be completed by the middle of 2015, and Ms Turner explained that this means the company “will need to recruit a team of additional technicians”.
