Police are hunting a youth who caused thousands of pounds of damage by running across the roofs of cars stored on a garage forecourt.
The incident took place at a Toyota car garage in Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham on the evening of Sunday 25 January. According to Gloucestershire Constabulary, it will cost around £5,000 to repair the Japanese cars that were damaged in this act of vandalism.
To cover the costs of this damage, the dealership and repair centre could call upon its combined motor trade insurance policy. This insurance is ideal for protecting the vehicles that are stored at the premises of a motor trade business as it provides cover against damage and theft. Further layers of insurance cover can offer protection for the tools and equipment as well as the building itself, among many other things.
A CCTV video, which has been posted on the Evening Standard's website, shows the unidentified youth – who was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a leather jacket with grey sleeves – running across the tops of a row of parked cars. The vandal can even been seen attempting to do a handstand on the seventh car.
The vandal, who caused damage to the body work of the cars he clambered over, was reportedly with a group of friends at the time of the incident.
