The UK pricing structures and full specification options for the brand new Abarth 124 Spider model have been announced by Fiat Chrysler, reports Car Dealer Magazine.
The latest model is due to arrive on British roads in the summer of 2016, and with much speculation about the pricing and specification of the Abarth 124 Spider, Fiat Chrysler has now revealed all. For the most basic model, the 1.4-litre TJet Manual, the automotive marque has announced that customers will receive “outstanding value for money” at a list price of £29,565. Prices will go up to £31,605 for the top-of-the-range automatic model.
UK car dealerships hoping to add the various versions of the Abarth 124 Spider to their forecourts this summer will need to make sure their motor trade insurance and road risks insurance policies are updated to account for their changing quotas. And with test drives sure to be an attractive option, those in the motor trade should ensure that they have demonstration cover too.
The 2016 version of the Fiat Chrysler model will come with a 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine, capable of delivering up to 170bhp and 250Nm of torque. The new Abarth 124 Spider has a top speed of 143mph, and can go from 0 to 62mph in around 6.8 seconds, according to the manufacturer.
UK customers will be able to choose from two types of transmission — a six-speed manual gearbox, or an automatic Sequenziale Sportivo model with sporty paddle shifts on the steering wheel. What’s more, each model will be thoroughly tested and certified by an official Abarth technician. Five body colours will be available: white, red, blue, grey and black.
Gerry Southerington, the brand manager for Abarth, said of the new 2016 model: “The 124 spider is a new car and a new chapter in the exciting Abarth story. It’s what many of our existing customers have been waiting for, and I am confident we will now welcome a new group of owners into the Abarth family.
“Great looks, stunning performance and unique equipment will set the Abarth 124 spider apart from other roadsters and I am excited about this car’s UK launch.”
